Your information is important to us. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit our website or use our services.
Effective Date: September 7, 2026
At Sonrisas, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy governs data collection and usage for our dental practice locations, ensuring your personal information is handled with care and transparency.
We collect information that you voluntarily provide through our website contact forms and social media lead forms, including:
The information we collect is used to:
Program description. Sonrisas operates a text messaging program used to respond to appointment and treatment inquiries, confirm and remind you about scheduled visits, send pre- and post-visit care instructions, follow up on treatment plans, and communicate about billing and insurance. Where you have separately agreed to it, we may also send occasional promotional messages, such as our $20 New Patient Exam or Sonrisas+ membership offers.
We send text messages only to individuals who have given us prior express written consent. We obtain that consent when you:
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services, and it is not a condition of receiving dental care from Sonrisas. You may decline text messages and still schedule and receive treatment; we will contact you by phone or email instead.
Message frequency varies and depends on your appointments and your interactions with us. Message and data rates may apply. Sonrisas does not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier's standard rates for messages and data will apply according to your plan. Please contact your carrier for details about your plan.
You may cancel text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. You may also reply STOPALL, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT. After you send one of these keywords, we will send a single confirmation message and then send you no further texts from that program. If you send any additional messages to us after that, we may not receive them and will not respond.
If you would like to rejoin, reply START, sign up again through any of the methods above, or ask a member of our staff at your next visit. Opting out of text messages does not remove you from our patient records and does not stop necessary communication by phone, mail, or email; to change those, see Section 6 below.
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or reach us directly:
Delivery of text messages depends on your mobile carrier's network and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Text messaging may not be supported by every carrier or every device.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services on our behalf, such as our scheduling platform and messaging provider, is permitted solely so that we can deliver the messages you asked for. All other use-case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile opt-in data is never sold, rented, or leased under any circumstances.
Our text messaging program is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. A parent or legal guardian may consent on behalf of a minor patient. Please do not send sensitive clinical information, medical histories, or photographs by text. Text messaging is not a secure channel, and it must never be used for a medical or dental emergency — if you are experiencing an emergency, call our office directly or dial 911.
Your privacy is paramount. We do not sell, rent, or lease our customer lists to third parties. Your data is used internally across our three locations to provide the best possible care. All information is managed in compliance with standard healthcare privacy expectations.
We share information with service providers only to the extent they need it to operate our practice on our behalf — for example, our scheduling platform, our messaging provider, and our payment processor. These providers are contractually bound to use the information solely to deliver services to us and may not use it for their own marketing.
Mobile phone numbers and text messaging consent are treated separately and more strictly: as stated in Section 3, no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes under any circumstances.
Our lead forms may be hosted on platforms like Facebook or Instagram. While we protect the data we receive, we encourage you to review the privacy policies of those platforms regarding how they handle your data on their end.
You have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your personal information. To be removed from our marketing database, please contact us directly via the information below.
We may partner with third-party advertising networks to display targeted ads on our website. These partners may collect information about your visits to our site and other websites to provide personalized advertising. We do not share your personal information with these partners unless you have given explicit consent.
We partner with White Heaven Marketing & Media to provide targeted advertising services. You can learn about their tracking and privacy policy by clicking here.
This section does not apply to text messaging. Mobile numbers collected for SMS and the consent associated with them are excluded from all advertising, retargeting, audience-building, and list-sharing activity described above, and are never provided to advertising networks or partners.
While the information collected on this marketing form is used primarily for scheduling and outreach, Sonrisas maintains strict internal protocols to protect your privacy. Once you become a patient, your records are protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this page. Material changes to how we handle text messaging consent will not be applied retroactively; if we change the purpose of our SMS program, we will obtain fresh consent before sending messages under the new purpose.
